How about those Keys?

Dear Neighbors,

As you know, the Association has been asking for unit keys for the past two years. I want to thank all of you that have responded.  We started last year with 45 missing keys. As of August 29, we only need 7 more unit keys to be 100% compliant.

If you have not been contacted, you may assume that there is a key for your unit in the lockbox.

Why do we need your keys? There are two basic reasons.

Emergency access: Medical access or equipment failure. There have been three incidents of water damage in the past two years when management could not access units where a water was flowing out of control. Simply put, no one was home and no key was in the lockbox.

Inspections: Every year in November, an annual fire inspection is conducted. The inspection requires access to every unit. Strobe/sounders and all sprinkler heads are checked. Units that are inaccessible are listed in a deficiency report. The Association pays for return visits to all inaccessible units.

How are the keys secured?

Each building has a lockbox in a closet with a dead bolt. They are now stored in an orderly fashion and tagged. These lockboxes have been recently organized to reduce the possibility of loss.
