EMERGENCY GUIDELINES

FOR ALL LIFE AND PROPERTY EMERGENCIES

  • Call 911 immediately
  • Give the dispatcher:

o   Property name – The Peninsula Windswept Condominiums

o   Affected Building and Unit Number

  • Notify The Peninsula Security Gate (302) 947- 4456 and inform them of the emergency 

·        IF A RESIDENT IS INJURED, UNCONSCIOUS, OR NOT BREATHING DO NOT MOVE THEM UNLESS THERE IS DANGER (FIRE, GAS, STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE)

  • Send someone to the Windswept Entrance to meet emergency responders

IF ANY EMERGENCY AFFECTS MULTIPLE UNITS

  • Windswept FSR Property Management is the Incident Coordinator
  • Updates are sent via:

o   Text alerts and Emails (ensure that your contact info is up to date on the FSR Portal.

  • Notify property management: Lisa (302) 402-7002 and 24/7 Customer Care (866) 433-3187

 FIRE/SMOKE GAS Emergencies

IF THERE IS FIRE , STRONG GAS ODOR OR SMOKE

  • Pull the nearest fire alarm (If you do not know where these alarms are in your building, please look for the Red Fire Alarm boxes located on each building floor.
  • Evacuate immediately, closing doors behind you
  • Do NOT use elevators
  • Go to the designated assembly area for your building with your pets if applicable

·         IF you smell gas DO NOT use lights, phones, or appliances until you are out of the building and away from the smell of gas.

  • Evacuate immediately with your pets

 FLOOD/BURST PIPE/WATER INTRUSION

IF THERE IS FLOODING, BURST PIPE, OR WATER INTRUSION

  • Shut off the nearest water valve in affected units
  • If flooding is severe, call 911, ensure they are aware this is not life threatening
  • Move valuables and pets to safe location

 POWER IS LOST

  • Check breakers inside your unit
  • Call Delaware Electric Cooperative 1-855-332-9090
  • Notify property management:  Lisa (302) 402-7002 and 24/7 Customer Care (866) 433-3187

IF AN ELEVATOR MALFUNCTIONS:

·        If you are inside of the elevator, press the emergency button

·        Do NOT try to exit, wait for professional help

·        Notify property management:  Lisa (302) 402-7002 and

24/7 Customer Care (866) 433-3187

WEATHER & NATURAL DISASTERS

IF A HURRICANE, TORNADO, OR SEVERE STORM WARNING IS ISSUED AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IS SEEN

  • Call 911 if collapse risk exists
  • Secure balcony furniture
  • Move vehicles to a safe location inside of a garage (If you do not have a private garage in Buildings 1,2,9,10,1, move your car into one of the large garages in Buildings #3-8, do not block other cars from moving)
  • Evacuate the area if possible
  • Stay indoors away from windows
  • Follow local emergency broadcasts

 SECURITY THREATS

IF THERE IS A SUSPICIOUS PERSON OR CRIME

  • Call 911 - Provide description and location
  • Notify The Peninsula Security Gate (302) 947- 4456
  • Do NOT confront the person
  • Notify property management: Lisa (302) 402-7002 and 24/7 Customer Care (866) 433-3187

IF THERE IS AN ACTIVE THREAT (WEAPON, VIOLENCE, INTRUDER)

  • Call 911 immediately
  • Lock and barricade if possible, turn off lights and stay silent, do not leave until police instruct you that it is safe.

AUTHORITIES or MANAGEMENT MAY CLEAR THE BUILDING BEFORE RESIDENT RE-ENTRY
